Edgar Gonzàlez i Pellicer obtained his PhD in Artificial Intelligence from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in Barcelona in 2012.
That same year, he joined Google Research in Mountain View, working on applied NLP on Apps and Search. In 2018, he joined Google Assistant, where he led the team developing the on-device semantic parsing models, helped define the overall Assistant on-device architecture, and delivered a number of quality and infrastructure improvements to Assistant NLP.
He has joined OpenChip to lead its Software org with the goals of providing high-quality software that enables hardware improvements and helping transfer the latest advances in AI into semiconductor design.
