Narcís Avellana holds a PhD degree Cum Laude in microelectronics (1993), developed at the University of Ulm (Germany) about hardware architectures for neural networks implementation.
He also holds a degree in Computer Science from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (1888) and a degree in Business Administration and Management from the same University (1993). Narcís has worked in the semiconductor industry since 1988, in Spain and Germany, in multinationals like Infineon and Seiko-Epson.
In 2006 he founded two companies, NVISION and Sensing &Control dedicated to the development of IoT solutions including a proprietary IoT platform and Artificial Intelligence algorithms. He joins Openchip in January 2024 as Chief Innovation Officer. He is the author of more than 50 publications and several chapters in 2 scientific books.
