Openchip brings its vision for Europe’s Semiconductor Future to Cercle d’Economia 2026

Barcelona, June 2, 2026.- Openchip participated in the 41st Annual Meeting of the Cercle d’Economia, held at the Palau de Congressos de Catalunya in Barcelona, under the theme “Europe’s strategic autonomy: myth or reality?”. The discussions framed a broader reflection on Europe’s ability to turn technological ambition into real industrial capability.

Cesc Guim, CEO of Openchip, joined the panel “Applied AI, Robotics and the New European Industrial Model”, sharing the company’s perspective on the role of advanced computing as a foundation for Europe’s industrial transformation.

The discussion explored how artificial intelligence, robotics and semiconductors are actively reshaping global value chains across multiple sectors. It also raised a central question for Europe: whether the region is positioned not only to innovate, but also to capture the value created by this technological shift.

Openchip emphasized the importance of sovereign, high-performance computing technologies as a key enabler of long-term competitiveness, resilience and industrial innovation in critical sectors.
The participation reflects Openchip’s role in Europe’s deep-tech ecosystem and its commitment to building the computational foundations of the next generation of industrial systems.
